I'm all hyped up on manners these days. I realize kids will be kids, but when I think about some of the things my children do at home, I get all concerned about how they are acting when I'm not around. Our library book theme the past two weeks has been every book about manners that I could check out. There were two absolute gems - one of which I will be purchasing. And that's saying something because I am picky about editing what gets to stay on our shelves when the library is free and can keep us clutter free in at least the book aspect of our lives.
Manners Can Be Fun, by Munro Leaf. Seriously, add it to your next amazon order - for $10 it goes over all kinds of annoying characters and why you do NOT want to be like them. His other books are on hold. I'm sure they're awesome.
And What Do You Say, Dear? by Sesyle Joslin. Also very good, beautiful illustrations, and a clever approach.

I like "Touchy". I have one of my very own at home. :)
okay Pam, the bathroom wrecker. I'm dying here. I'm ordering this book. I'll probably order a few for gifts because I'm laughing so hard.
I'm loving your finds! And no worries, your kids are always angels over here. I like the "manners week." Brilliant.
I think we need to have manners week around our house too. We have a little too much "accidental tooting" going on!
We have the "What do you say dear?" one. I think it is cute. That author writes another cute one. I think it is called "I like you." Not about manners but really cute.
I get afraid of manners books because sometimes they give my kids ideas. Like the Berenstein bears book about not biting nails suddenly gave a little girl who never thought about biting her nails, an idea. But since the bathroom wrecker did not come up with a single idea that my kids have not already come up with, I think I need to get that book :).
Pam, I get scared too and my kids are older, lots older... And even though they've been taught what to do and what not to do, I still get nervous! If they do anything too embarrassing though don't worry because everyone else's kids have either already done it, or will do it at one point or another. :)
