Bathroom Renovation Update

A big sigh of relief. Phase Two of the renovation is nearly complete. An office, an art room, but first up, a bathroom. I am a before and after junkie. ANY before and after - a haircut, a weight loss, a good cleaning, and especially, a renovation. Good or bad. I love to see what people do. So, lest we forget, bathroom BEFORE:
And after. We demo'd the whole bathroom and started fresh, mostly out of necessity. Carpet needed to go, and a heat vent in the floor had gotten rusty. We knew we wanted to make the whole back area a big, open shower, and I'm really happy with the result.

We really didn't know where to start on a bathroom. We had seen plenty we liked, but nothing we absolutely loved. Finally we came across some tile that we loved (American Olean, for the mosaic and the blue on the wall) and went from there. I had also seen some frameless shower doors and thought they looked so cool, we went with it. Also, we really loved the Duravit sink.

I love cutouts in showers (mostly because I dislike hang-y, caddy things because they look like an afterthought).

Looks amazing! I love it all! But I must ask, have you ever tried to hit that flush button with your foot? I know, there's no need in your own home, but I just wonder how it works for people that prefer the foot flush method.

Looks so clean and fresh. Way to go!

So what does it say about me that I still use the (rusted out) shower caddy I bought for #6 at the Pink Palace?

I love the new bathroom, especially the sink. So you. I love how you're updating your home while staying true to its gestalt. (Can a home have a gestalt? Yours can.)

Could this comment be any longer?

I love the new bathroom! We have been working on bedrooms and the kitchen so currently our bathrooms all have plywood floors, only one shower is working, and one is totally gutted. So I guess it is safe to say I am a little jealous of your beautiful FINISHED bathroom :)

AMAZING! Can you please come and chose some updates for mine? Our bathrooms are going for the eighties hollywood look.

I was kinda hoping you'd keep the carpet.

Wowza! This is totally 5 star quality. Love he modern clean lines, the mosaic tiles, and the trough sink. But gotta wonder, why on earth would you ever get rid of that shag toilet seat cover? Beautiful work!
