So last Friday was Monet's birthday. This is a Monet Water Lilly painting...
Since one of Monet's themes was painting the same thing, but at different times of day or different times of the year, I sketched out our house, copied it, and then had them color it like different times of the year. (This also brought out a discussion about seasons - note the flannel board - which by the way, did you know you can get all those cool old flannel board story pieces at the distribution center..?)
Bottom left is a picture of a sugar cookie decorated like a Monet water lilly.
And this lovely girl went into labor just as we were wrapping up Monet's birthday party...
I don't have pictures of him yet, but she named him Theo, after Vincent Van Gogh's brother. A nice namesake.

I'm SO waiting in anticipation for what you plan your kids for my birthday.
Did they eat the carrots off the cookie?
